Week of Champions: Rev. Style

I’ve heard it many times before: “Preparation, with proper planning prevents poor performance.” However, like many others, I fall victim to the giant of procrastination. Enjoying life in the now and not thinking of the timeline to achieve perfection in major projects is really one of my downfalls. After 4 full years of college, that included many sleepless all-night cramming sessions, I would get the message through the head. Nope. Not even close.

This week was quite the humdinger, if I say so myself. My summer school class had me listed to do my final presentation on Monday, along with my final exam on Wednesday. I had nearly 5 weeks to prepare for the presentation on Monday; however, I think I waited until Sunday night to start it. The final exam included questions from day one and all the other student presentations that were covered over the six week course. So, Tuesday night led into that crazed night of turning off my phone and missing an award show that I really wanted to see, in order to refresh my brain of all the material that I had learned. Sounds like fun right? Thankfully, both of them went extremely well, despite my lack of proper planning. In fact, the final exam, I know I “over-studied” for it. But, thankfully I’m learning that some people operate better when there is pressure around. Some folks thrive on that adrenaline that pumps through because they are forced to tap into their core to get their head above water. Every person has to know their boundaries though.

Not to mention the adrenaline that’s already there, I had to some how muster up enough strength to keep going through the second half of the week. The Greeley Stampede, working at a local bar, and keeping up on my movies (I still haven’t seen The Incredible Hulk, The Love Guru, or Kung Fu Panda. I know sad day) have been keeping me extremely busy. But somehow, I’m sure I’ll find a way to keep up with the pace.
